Competitively priced, the metal platform bed frame is the foundation of a queen bed set Im assembling piecemeal for my guest bedroom. I already had a lovely headboard, a foldable box spring, and a 3 memory foam topper. Im still hunting for a deal on a quality mattress.
The metal bed frame came well packaged. After unboxing and separating the components, it took a little over an hour to assemble using the included Allen key and wrench. The instructions were straightforward and the bolts and washers clearly identified. I managed to get it together on my own, but a second pair of hands couldnt hurt. Once together, the frame is solid and very supportive with its closely placed and central bracing bar. The metal wont crack like wood can, so I expect it to last. Plastic tips on the legs protect the flooring.
Im pleased with the quality of the components and how easily it went together. It creaks a little when shifting positions on it, but Im hoping that over time it will settle. I would consider getting other products in the future.
This requires a lot of assembly and there are some complications along the way. Some of the holes are off a little so you really need some muscle to get things into place. Once you can get the screw in, it will tighten up and pull together, though. Overall its not bad. It gets the job done. I think it is best for a single person due to weight limit, especially when you must also consider the weight of your mattress and boxspring into that limit. I do like that it is minimalist and theres no uneccesary bulk.
The instructions on this werent so helpful, and we spent a fair bit of time trying to figure out which slat it meant. Holes also didnt line up so well, which necessitated some neanderthal grunting, groaning, and banging.
Im afraid Im also not convinced of durability. Its a basic frame and headboard. Very basic, no frills. The height is great for storage bins underneath, but it just doesnt seem very sturdy to me.
Its for a guest room. Presumably my guests will not be jumping on the bed, so I think itll do ok. I really wouldnt put it in a kids room, though.
Dont forget to use the address / many things you buy every day will generate a small donation to the charity of your choice.
I was so looking forward to this bed. But assembly is a bear: many pieces and the holes dont line up. The directions are not helpful Once cobbled together it stayed put though I am not convinced it is the most sturdy. It looks fine and I like the 12 inch clearance. The finish is smooth. It does squeak which could be a result of my less than impressive assembly. So while the assembly soured me, I do like the look and clearance. It would probably fine as a short term solution in a small living space. Keep in mind that the weight limit is 225 lbs.
That middle/bar support makes a difference in the stability of the frame. Its holding up the mattress, box spring, and a couple of my kids and me with no issues. The middle bar gives me piece of mind as far as long/term stability is concerned. Its not the easiest bed frame to put together. The directions could be better. But this frame is useful especially since it has a headboard. The headboard is metallic in design as the rest of the frame. Big cushion/y pillows are needed for comfort support when propped up on it. I had to caution my kids to not to jump near it to avoid bumping on the metal headboard . Good thing this bed is for adult guests and not for my little ones. I do like that the frame sits quite high so I can put big plastic bins to store their stuff in. Although Im using a boxspring on it, Im using the bed skirt to cover the frames legs to hide the stored plastic bins (pic 01).
Moderately recommended.
The bed looks pretty good but not very sturdy. It was difficult to put together. I would be afraid to sleep two people in this bed. Luckily I just use it in my guestroom. Also makes a lot of squeaks even though all of the parts were tightened. Its a tall enough underneath to have storage which is nice. I would probably be fine for a kids room. Just make sure they dont jump on it
Frame came 6 days after it was ordered. It took my husband a little over 40 minutes to set up with help from a 4 and 8 year old. The box spring made the bed too high so we chose not to use it. It is a bit squeaky when switching positions. It feels fine when my family of five is watching a movie and laying in it.
The color came a shade darker than originally posted, which is the only reason Im giving it 4 stars. Its more a deep bronze color versus gold. It was incredibly easy to put together. It arrived in about a week.

Four Stars
Very basic but a good value. Assembly was easy , 20 minutes.

Broke within 2 weeks
Had the bed for two weeks and the middle supports bent and it Is ruined. So dissappointed.
