Reviewers on other sites report arrival with damage. Mine came OK. Arrived in 13 days. It comes in two boxes, the largest being 47x21x16 and weighing 115 pounds, so you will probably want delivery. Assembly took 6 hours. Needs a lot of bending, reaching and crawling. It can be damaged, and was, if turned on its side in early stages of assembly, which is hard to avoid. Holes on parts G and H must point backwards, which is easy to miss and hard to undo. Steps 3 and 4 are best done during Step 5. Arrows must point front and down. Use T5 for brace and alignment when loading T2-4. Do not force the cross dowels. Buy sliders ($5) to move. Note different colors and 3 possible tops. Note different prices from different sellers and delivery charge, if any. Instructions say it is not heat or water resistant, so you might want the metal top for kitchen use.
This is a beautiful piece of furniture! It took about 3-4 hours to assemble and wasn't too difficult. The quality of materials is excellent and sturdy. We went from having just a lower cabinet to this, so having the upper shelving/storage is wonderful! All of the drawers slide in and out well, and the cabinet doors all open and close fine. We have a small microwave and a 30 cup percolator on it and there is still enough room to prepare a cup of coffee or put a plate of cookies out. We are very happy with this purchase!
Arrived with a broken drawer; it was a gift for newlywed friends so it wasn't worth the hassle to send back. There's just a drawer that doesn't work.
It's pretty, smaller than expected, but pretty solid. (Which makes the broken drawer even more surprising)
Set aside a whole bunch of hours to put it together.
Item was shipped in two boxes. The top in one box and the main body in separate box. We have assembled all of our own furniture so we knew how to follow the directions. If you have never assembled furniture before, it might seem a bit overwhelming. Take your time they go step by step. It took us (me reading directions and hubby and adult son assembling) about an hour, and that was with me telling them to put a piece of the drawer on backwards and redoing it. They do have some of the hardware already assembled for you. There was one flaw, note in second pic. It is at the bottom of the side, so not noticable really unless you know where to look. When you have this much wood in a 100 lb box shipped by UPS, it is to be expected really. It is all solid wood, even the back panel that is normally a folded piece of flimsy cardboard, it is wood paneling. No tiny nails, everything is screwed together.
It does get a fine residue from the packing material. Looks like fiberglass but it isn't. Just a damp rag got that off easily.
This was exactly what I was shopping for. Very sturdy, lovely piece of furniture.
We got it to replace our kitchen pantry as we needed to move somewhere else to make space in a kitchen. We went for real wood as everything else we saw seemed had various issues with the quality. After some issues with delivery as item arrives in 3 boxes and we didn't get all of them at the same time, we got to assembly part. We were prepared to spend at least 5 hours on it so we did base first night and hutch on a next day. Base was most time consuming with many pieces to put together. Everything was very well organized, labeled, and, except few chips at the bottom part, good condition. Every set of hardware clearly labeled so you can easily match it to instructions. You need to closely watch instructions and labels on pieces to put them in a right order and direction. If something doesn't fit properly most likely you need to switch sides, reverse direction or tighten bolts. Don't force anything too hard or you going break things. I suspect this is when people had problems, had to drill new holes when they've put things in a wrong order. It happened too is to when we had to put wooden screws through the pre-drilled holes in a back and couldn't find them. They were inside instead . So for the base I put them from inside and for hatch I knew about those pre-drilled holes and watched for them closely. They are not very visible if you don't look closely and have enough light. This is the place where you want to use a drill to get a bit into the back panel or you'll have troubles to get your screws straight in there. Not too deep, maybe 1/8 or so just to help screws get a proper direction. I certainly would advise to have 2 people for this if you can. Much easier when you need some support, turn things around, correct each other at the critical moments and certainly when you need to lift hutch on a base. Don't rush things, have enough lighting, prepare to spend 5 or 6 hours and you'll find it not stressful at all. You'll need a few very big trush bags for your clean up after you've done as there is a lot of packing materials to keep your buffet beautiful. Last note - don't expect too much extra space from this item. It's very useful but not for keep it all kind of storage. With that noted it's a very nice, and heavy, piece of furniture which we put it in our dining room. I can finally see, and get quickly, wine glasses, plates, etc. I think it's worth money and efforts spent.
I never purchased furniture online before. I really love this hutch. It's good quality and beautiful in person. The color of the wood was a little darker than the picture shows, but I like the darker color better. Yes, it took a little while to put together, but I took my time and the directions were written very clearly -- no issues with understanding what to do. The only problem I had with this unit was there was one piece on the bottom that wasn't attached to the buffet. I had to screw it into place a little further away from where the original holes were. So there is a gap on the left side between the piece of wood in the middle and the legs, but it doesn't bother me. I researched a decent hutch/buffet for weeks to use in my kitchen for extra storage -- this unit fits the bill. Again, love this.
Absolutely Beautiful, I always get compliments when my guests see it for the first time. Easy to assemble, all the critical pieces like hinges and many pieces are already pre-assembled. Don't get me wrong there is a lot to assemble, but it is by far the best experience I've had on a large item, the packing is excellent, it comes in three separate boxes. I would recommend and buy it again and again...
Nice contemporary style and finish, looks good in our eclectic kitchen, needed some additional storage space and place to put the microwave and toaster oven. Assembly is a 2 hour job, take your time, review the instructions carefully, a cordless screwdriver most useful. Packaging was fair, and was concerned when it arrived as the two boxes where in rough condition, however upon unpacking all the pieces where good, a couple had minor nicks and chips, however after assembly, we could not see the nicks and chips. The main box is very large and heavy, be careful, don't hurt yourself or get help if you need to move it. We took pieces out of the box and moved them to the assembly area as needed.

Nice looking buffet, reasonably spacecious.
