I am an engineer by trade and a woodworker by hobby and so my standards for furniture are very high. has absolutely surpassed them with their Alexia Wood Platform Bed Frame!
When I ordered the bed, I was concerned because the wood looked like some kind of pine, which I dont like the look of in furniture. I am not sure what the wood is, however, it is harder than pine and they have embossed a light grain texture on it that makes it look and feel a bit like red oak. It is very pleasing, as is the overall design of the bed.
The construction is rock solid - not a wobble - and is such that as the wood expands and shrinks, as wood does, it can easily be tightened up. They even give you a cute little ratcheting hex wrench to use when needed.
They really have thought about the customers experience. They shrink wrap all the hardware onto cardboard and organize and label it so there is no question what goes where and then, on top of all that, they have a group of hardware labelled spares.
I find it hard to believe they can offer all this quality and attention to detail for only $185, but they do.
Its been a long time since I have admired a piece of affordable furniture and the company that makes it!
