We purchased this set to replace the metal one we bought two years ago. It was crap, so we decided to go with wood this time. With a good price and nice reviews, we settled on this set. It took longer to disassemble the old beds than to put these together. My husband needed minimal assistance. The kids love them and the wood seems sturdy. Our only worry is the rods that connect the beds when u stack them seem a bit flimsy. Time will tell if they hold steady. Also, the stickers for the letter labels are a pain to get off. Effective.
