Im a few days into using the new frame and so far Im pretty satisfied. Assembly was very easy compared to some other furniture Ive assembled and came very conveniently and relatively compactly packaged. It feels pretty sturdy with 9 points of contact to the floor, and the wood slats provide mostly quiet flexibility.
Im pretty happy with my purchase as I mentioned earlier, but there are a couple caveats that I dont think are a big deal and/or necessarily representative.
Frame came with a very intense and overwhelming chemical smell that gave me a headache. I was able to resolve this without much effort (from my perspective) by using a single coating of some Febreze Fabric Refresher (not air fresher) on the exterior and inside the headboard compartment, and leaving an air purifier on low in the room for 24 hours. I consider this low effort to resolve and just cost of business when shopping on , but some may not so I figured Id call it out and my steps to resolve it.
The package comes with a fairly handy allen head ratchet that I did use for assembly, but I found I had to give it some help by placing my thumb on the switch as part way through assembly the main gear teeth stopped reliably catching. This is annoying, but not a deal breaker in my eyes.
Lastly, you may have noted I mentioned the wood slats were mostly quiet. Ive noticed that the velcro that attaches them to the frame makes noise when I initially sit or lie down on the bed, but do not as I am laying or shifting on the bed. I do some moderate tossing and turning during sleep.
Considering the price point and how these issues are either minor or do not persist into long term usage, I feel pretty comfortable rating it a 4/5 and recommending it. If those issues were not there I would have given this 5 stars. I like the sturdiness and comfort of this product.
Great value, only minor compaints.
