Easy to assemble, positive first impression but theres just one concern I have
The two stools were delivered in a slightly smaller box than I had expected, which was welcome.
Assembly was very easy, it took maybe 20 minutes in total for both stools together.
First impressions were positive, but I do have a concern. The seat material is not leather and based on past experience with PU plastic (which this is), I worry that it wont be long before the material cracks and disintegrates. In fact, I am almost expecting this to happen, because it has always happened with similar products in the past. Basically, unless these are really treated very carefully, they wont last long. The question is, how DO you treat these carefully? No solution is desirable really; for example, it would be possible to put transparent plastic bags around the seats, but not many people would like that. I wouldnt! Also, I am unaware of any protective oil that could or should be applied, and Im inclined to think that it would be a complete waste of time on PU plastic.
Another issue to be aware of applies if youre a cat owner. Again, based on my personal experience, cats do like to sit on these kind of stools and now and again they like to put their claws in. You wont be pleased if this happens to your bar stools.
Theres a one-year warranty but Im far from confident that the manufacturer would replace the seat sections based on physical wear and tear.
My main gripe is that these are not cheap to buy, but you do get rather cheap material in the form of PU plastic. It looks nice at first, but its not built to last. Something to bear in mind.
