This bed does not require a box spring, which is pretty nice. Only a mattress. The fabric is really black and nice. No fake leather but a really nice fabric. I wished that it was a bit taller headboard but it works out fine if you adjust pillows. Its pretty low to the floor so not much can fit underneath but this is the only negative.
