Its OK. This bed was purchased for my grandsons who one had to give up their room for their new little sister, so I had to put them in the room together. This is a great study bed and it look nice. they were happy because they were getting a room makeover. It was easy to put together as long as follow the directions. Just beware which side the ladder goes on
