very stable.This bed is very sturdy and great for small rooms. Putting it together is a pain! You definitely need two people and follow the directions to the letter, as you assemble the bed you begin to realize the why the directions made you do that! In my opinion it was well worth the assembly hassle as its much more sturdy than other beds I have seen like this and WAY CHEAPER than the box stores.
