The slats do not provide a sturdy bed for anyone bigger than a small child. I would recommend adding some kind of reinforcement. We will probably have to add plywood. It’s not made to use a box spring. And the best sized mattress is going to be around 8-10 inches at the most. Other than the lack of sturdiness- very pretty and sweet. Hopefully this lasts for many years.
