I bought this bed a year ago, and it worked for about 10 months.
When I first built it, it felt very sturdy and looked great. After a few months, I noticed that the bed started leaning forward every time I sat in it.
About two months ago, the shifting became dramatic (the bed would literally lurch 6 inches forward every time I sat on it). Perhaps on carpet, this wouldnt have been so annoying, but on wood it was incredibly annoying. I was constantly pushing my bed back up against the wall.
Finally, I pulled up the mattress to investigate and realized that the middle row of small legs had bent at a 45 degree angle AND had completely scratched my wood floors to pieces due to the fact that the plastic nubs on the bottom of the feet had worn away, leaving sharp exposed metal. OMG!
I promptly ordered a different bed and thought I could wait it out for a few weeks (and the floors are a total loss already so whats a few more weeks gonna do). However, a few nights ago, the bed started lunging forward 1.5 feet when I sat in it, and I felt like it would collapse at any moment. Last night, I finally took it apart and am now sleeping with my mattress on the floor until my new bed comes.
In sum, it looked great for a while, but it is cheaply made and fell apart on me relatively quickly. Also, my wood floors are destroyed (3 huge divots where the middle row of legs is). Thank God I own this house or else I would be looking at a huge fine!!!
Would not recommend, especially on wood floors ??
