This item was ordered for a dining room, and I needed something with storage and drawers and also that was made of wood, not particle board, or any of that other stuff that allegedly substitutes for wood. The chest is a dark cherry finish, and looks very nice in the room. The wood blends with all of the other woods, no problem. A friend assembled the piece in a little over two hours---not bad considering the number of pieces and the way every piece was wrapped in foam paper and surrounded by more foam stuff. The only problem was the thousands of little white beads that came off with the wrapping. Check the user directions, because it says do not use glass cleaner or anything else with amonia in it for cleaning the cabinet. For what I paid for this, I consider it an excellent purchase. Prime had great delivery service---although I pity the poor driver who had to get it off of the truck and up the 8 steps to the front porch! Beware, this item is very, very heavy!
