See photo 3: the screw into nut is hidden. Took a knife cut it open. Problem 1 solved.
See photo 2: one of the four feet would not screw in. There is nothing I can do to make it go in. Ends up just use a rubber dome foot adhesive on instead. Seems to work just fine.
