I am over the moon pleased with this purchase. You cannot find solid hardwood (Poplar from Appalachia) as well-designed, unfinished (so ZERO glue or finishes that produce VOCs) like this anywhere else that I have seen. Also, 100% .
The whole family has jumped around on this bed and I have not heard a creak. The natural grain and color variations go from white to purple to light yellow to light green. I think it is a beautiful natural wood appearance left as is but it would also take a stain or paint well too.
All the connections are nested or notched wood so the wood has a support ledge that does not rely solely on dowels or screw fasteners to stay together. I did forget the screws at first as the instructions dont make that step super obvious. The center support legs do not have pilot holes, but if you know how to power drill and power screwdrive, its a cake walk.
