I love the design. Exactly what I was looking for. Most of the bed is assembled with bolts and threaded cross dowel inserts (see instructions or assembly video on ). These joints are very strong. The only thing I dont like is that the legs are connected to the bed ends with wood dowels and pocket screws. This is potentially a weak point in my opinion. I would have liked to glue the dowels, but they come pre-inserted without glue and I could not remove them to apply glue. Also some of the dowels stuck out too far (holes were not deep enough) which would have prevented the pieces from fully mating. I was able to solve this problem by cutting the dowels a bit, but someone with less carpentry experience might not have figured this out. I would recommend that the manufacturer re-think this aspect of the design.
