This table replaced my smaller one, which was not big enough for a game foursome. With the leaves down, it fits into the same space; with the leaves up, it allows four to play, eat, or a coffee break. It actually takes up less space, too -- with leaves down it doesn't protrude into room, and it snugs up to the wall when not needed. It'll seat my overflow dinner guests, too, since I've put it in my family/dining room ... that was my primary need.
