This is amazingly chintzy for the money. The drawer bottoms are cheap cardboard, as is the backsides. I went out and purchased real wood for both! The pine is not solid but pieced together and so soft that one extra turn of a screw means stripping it out. It’s so soft that your fingernail can sink down into it, and it’s unavoidable to mar it while assembling it. I’ve put together a lot of furniture over the past 30 years and this takes the cake for chintzy materials. Where did they find such flimsy drawer rollers and cabinet hinges? To make matters worse, this is a beast to assemble. I just thought the reviewers complaining about how long it took to assemble were newbies to the world of tools and furniture assembly. Not. Be prepared to spend at least two 8 hour days putting the scores of cheap pieces together. I would have returned this but for the fact I was already into it a full day’s labor before I sorely regretted buying this cheap piece of junk. But, yes, once it’s assembled and tucked under the bed it does offer tremendous storage as promised, which I’m happy about, and you can’t tell what a cheap piece of crap it is.
