Just put this unit together. 2 hours for one person (would have been less with help!). One of the best assemble/it/yourself pieces weve seen since the screws and hardware are all labeled by number in separate plastic bags and the furniture pieces are all labeled by letter (on a very small tag which you have to look for). Once their system was understood it was just a r of common sense. Did the entire assembly with just 1 Phillips screwdriver.
A few caveats. some pieces have long grooves which are to hold the very thin back panels. Make sure the grooves are always at the back when assembling or youll have to take it apart and try again. Like we said, the back panels are very thin, almost flimsy. Well probably use some of the Styrofoam panels it came with and some heavy duty glue to shore them up from the back (which has the added benefit of letting us inch it closer to the wall without hitting). All in all a better experience than some other kits (including ).
This was purchased for our home office use to help organize the overflow of small things, envelopes, extra pens, etc. etc. etc. We wont be putting heavy files anywhere except maybe the bottom shelf because we dont want to bend the upper shelves. We bought the white version and there were no obvious scratches.
If it were sturdier, especially the back, we would have given 5 stars.
