The pieces came in a 135 box that was surprisingly (frighteningly?) small. And yes, every single piece had to be connected from its most basic form. But the illustrations were clear and it went together in an afternoon. The cousins loved sharing a room and the frame seems very solid. I really like the angled ladder for young kiddos.
