Its a nice shade of blue ... a dark slate blue? Hard to describe. See photos. The underbed drawers are large yet lightweight (see photo) so the bed is not too heavy to move when fully assembled. The drawers take awhile to assemble but theyre worth it. A hard semi-flexible translucent plastic material.
Shipped quickly and although I dislike the use of styrofoam packing blocks (as everyone seems to use) this company shipped the fabric pieces with custom made fabric slip covers so that they arrived clean and without the styrofoam dots which stick to everything. Thoughtful.
The hardware was individually labeled and all kept organized very well. It assembled pretty quickly. The individual drawers with castings take the longest.
Also to note: the drawers have a slick locking mechanism. My cat cant pull them open as he really wants to crawl under the bed and cause trouble.
