After reading other reviews about the slats breaking, we went to homedepot and got wood cut to 54.5 inches and put them between the slats as shown in the photo. I used the extra pieces from the wood and made a stand to hold up the center rail since it doesnt seem to be sturdy enough. Also, it was missing the bottom stands for the poles so I filled out a form on the manufacture website and the parts will be mailed to me no issue. You will need the sticker that they say is on the product but its actually on the manual at the top of the front cover. The bed is also 3 inches bigger than full size mattress I bought but were filling the spaces with blankets.
