This chair is a piece of cake to put together. I had a great fear of ordering this chair because of having to assemble it. Well, let me tell you the directions are great and I am not a mechanical person at all. The only difference that I made to the assembly was to stand on the opposite side in front than they told you to. I didnt have another person to help me. If you can take off or put on an oven door, you can assemble this chair. The chair comes in six pieces four legs a seat and a back. It has nice fabric on it, on the smooth side. It is well constructed, in my humble opinion. My only mild complaint is getting the back to go down. I found that if I put my feet up on the seat, as I am sitting, and push back it moves nicely. Great little chair for a petite person such as I. I do have to use a small pillow at my back due to being a bit too far back to the back of the chair. I recommend it to petite people it is a small chair but great for my TV room.
