No Box Spring Neededexcept for when you purchase a Gel Memory Foam Mattress!!!
Love the sturdiness of the frame, however the Gel Memory Foam mattress we purchased falls through the slats causing you to feel every single metal slat both horizonal and vertical.
You MUST have a box spring if you are also going to use a Memory Foam Mattress.
We would have purchased a less tall frame had we known we would have to get a box spring as well. Now the bed is almost too tall to get into without a step stool. (and we are TALL people!!!)
