Ok so Ive had this bed frame for a while and I feel like I can give a solidly reliable review on it now.
The manufacturer weight limit for this bed is 1,600lbs. I havent yet put that much weight on it but it has held 1,200lbs of people plus the weight of my VERY heavy (easily 150lbs+) king mattress without issue. This isnt just still weight either, that total was comprised of three people and we hop around on the bed, put the bulk of our weight directly into a point of the bed via our knees, hands, etc. I do yoga and PT activities on it when I wake up and my friend has done chiropractic adjustments to me on it while supporting the full 1,200 lbs. Its held up to enthusiastic adult activities at a lower total weight (about 800lbs) but on my linoleum flooring the bed did slide during this, as well as other generally large movements such as someone scooting down to the edge of the bed quickly, so I do have to push the head back up to the wall most nights. Im sure rubber feet would cure this, I just havent gotten around to buying any because I dont want to deal with lifting my stupidly heavy mattress. I will give the disclaimer that my abnormally thick mattress may contribute to some of the weight distribution success. If you have a more standard thickness mattress, getting some plywood to put under your mattress should accomplish a similar effect. Dont get a board thats too thick or the lip that holds the mattress on the frame wont do its job anymore. Ill probably do this eventually just to prevent the bed frame from putting a permanent grid pattern on the bottom of my mattress.
There is some squeaking, that has gotten a little louder with time but its really not any worse than any other metal frame Ive used. Im sure I just need to tighten the screws but again stupidly heavy mattress.
The frame is tall and my mattress is tall so even at 6 I cant just sit directly down on it, I have to sit on the edge and do a little hop. Now that Im comfortable the bed is sturdy enough to last a while I need to buy steps for my small dogs because one has already dealt with a temporary limp from jumping from the height and landing a little wrong. On the upside for the height, the under bed storage is ample. You can fit fairly sizeable containers under it easily.
Overall Im very happy with the purchase but if I have any issues with the long term quality I will come back and update my review.
Supports a lot of weight!
