They seem to be pretty sturdy. I really like them. Put them together by myself and the instructions are, meh. If you are Bob the builder you may know this already but, Note that all 4 of the bigger screws go into the back legs of chair. Shorter screws, one in middle of back and the rest on front legs. Directions are not very clear. I still have to take the first one apart and redo the screws,. I could not understand why I could not get the screws in all the way until I figured it on the second chair.
