I actually got this bed from eBay via Wayfair. This bed is a tank! Its gorgeous (I got turquoise) and I put it together by myself in about 4 hrs. I took my time so as not to damage anything or hurt myself. First thingit REALLY does weigh 400 lbs. My 85 yr old mother and I had a hell (refraining from using a swear word) of a time getting it into the house. It has to be put together in the room its going to reside in (doorway is too small for width of bed). There were only two areas of construction that was remotely difficult. The first 90 degree angle joint was hard only because I had to hold the two together as I screwed them together (get a buddy for this one joint). The second issue was when I was putting the trundle together and after I got the frame screwed together the slates wouldnt ease in. I just loosened the joints, eased the slates in, and then retightened the frame. BTW I dont use the trundle for a second mattress, I use it for storage and it can hold A LOT
