We used this for the room for our 11 and 12 year old girls. They are 55 and 58, respectively. They weigh 160 and 130 ish each. I weigh 195 and got on the top bunk no problem. Its not tall. Im 53 and can reach into the top bunk. The one thats 58 is on the bottom and can sit up without hitting her head. They really like the full over full as opposed to the twin over twin. It still fits in the little nook we have just as well.
It was really easy to assemble. I dont think it even took us 2 hours and I had to stop multiple times to answer work emails. It takes 2 people only because its easier if someone is holding the piece as you put the screws in to make sure its level and they go in easy. DONT TIGHTEN THE SCREWS UNTIL THE END. Ive made that mistake many times with bunk beds. Dont do it. This one was at least 10x easier than the last ikea ones we assembled. The box is HEAVY that its shipped in. Probably doesnt hurt to pay the extra money for them to put it in the room you want it in. I have 3 stories and it was terrible getting it upstairs. It would have definitely been worth the $20 to have them take it up there.
Perfect size
