It is not an Ethan Allen-quality bed frame, but with some additional modifications -- 1-inch screws to anchor the slats to the perpendicular crossmembers, and L-brackets at the corners -- this bed is solid enough. I was looking for something to replace my queen sleigh bed because I wanted to streamline; this design is simple and elegant. The six drawers are not spacious, but for most of us any additional storage is helpful.
