Our living space is small and devoted to my husbands music studio, so this was the solution to the need to have a place to eat. It works. I dress it up with beautiful wedge/shaped placemats, although oval would work, too. The wood is very dark, and I would have preferred something more in the medium tone. Also, the legs taper upward toward the table, closer together at the top than at the floor. We had to saw about an inch off the legs because the chairs seated us too low at the table, and then found that we couldnt slide the chairs under the table because of the taper. I wish I had bought a pedestal base table, but I suppose that would have been more difficult to lower. My husband thinks this table is perfect, and maybe hes right. Were just 2 for most meals, and when we have guests we pull the table out from the wall and raise the leaves. Its tight, but do/able. Certainly worth the money!!
