I like that it seems sturdy, even though it feels a little wobbly. I put my 35 inch long electric fireplace underneath on the second shelf and it is holding it well. It can hold a smudge or fingerprint. I am not sure what is best for cleaning the table. Overall, I really like this and would recommend it to a friend.
