This bed with Trundle was easy to assemble. My husband had to make adjustments to the Trundle part you pull on to get the bed out. Sharpe corners on both ends had to be cut and sanded down. This would have been a big safety issue with our 2 year old. He also added a gate to the stairs and extra rails to the inside(because she still figured out a way to get up there with the gate) but that was just our choice to keep youngest off the top bunk. Overall dont regret purchase.
