Looks cool. Some design flaws. Still the best and coolest looking option for a small space.
Generally, this is a nice looking bed / the best looking of the many many beds we looked at while searching for one.
It simply looks cool.
It takes a while to assemble and you REALLY need to be careful with all the parts because of the special purpose holes (for the ladder for instance). I ended up disassembling the initial frame and swapping the sidebars as a result. Not a big deal, and definitely not a manufacturers fault.
HOWEVER, there are two problems with this bed:
1. Everything is designed as a rectangle, so the bed is shaky as a result. No matter how hard you tighten the screws it remained wobbly. There is not a single triangle in the construction, which would have helped stability a lot. Not a problem for a small kid / does not seem like it will fall apart, just feels weird to have the bed shaky and squeaky like that.
2. The ladder. WHO CAME UP WITH THE TINY ROUND STEPS? It hurts to climb on them. We are trying everything in our imagination to wrap around those steps so it is not a torture to climb up. Cmon! How much/cost did you save by not making them regular flat steps? Major PIA if you ask me.
Other comments / the shelves are a nice touch. However, the main table shelf is really narrow. I ended up using the top shelf as a table extension adding two slider brackets underneath.
Overall: Looks cool. Some design flaws. Still the best and coolest looking option for a small space. My boy loves it.
