Before this bed my son would sneek out the bed and in my mine every night. since getting this bed and the mattress I bought on . He has not been in my bed in 2 weeks. it took 2hrs to put it together. you can do it alone until its time to connect the legs for that part you will need a second person. its a pretty well built sturdy bed. only complaint is the wood pieces (beware of getting a splinter, they couldve sanded and sealed it to prevent possible splinters) other than that. I love this bed. We have a 9in Mattress and no Box Spring. You can still see a great deal headboard, but
If we had a 8in mattress it wouldve been absolutely the perfect mattress height.
