I just moved into a new apartment and the moving company lost my bed, so I decided to buy this one as a replacement. The bed is on slats that run vertically. The drawers are right underneath the slats, so you can see the slats and drawers if you remove the mattress. The bed comes with no headboard. I am currently 20 years old, 56, and around 100 pounds and this bed worked out for me really well. I dont feel like the bed isnt sturdy in the least bit. I dont climb on the drawers or jump on the bed. The drawers open and close nicely and they were able to hold various arts and crafts supplies and my pajamas. The drawers are not very deep, however, so when you place clothes inside, its better to lay them horizontally instead of vertically. I like to fold my shirts vertically when I put them in drawers so I can see them easier, but I couldnt close the drawer when I attempted to place them that way. The drawers pull out the same distance as seen in the photo, and do not run the full length of the bed.
My major complaint is the size. The frame was a bit too long. This frame states that it is an XL size, but my mattress is still a little too small. There are gaps where the mattress curves, so it would be easy to drop something on accident, it fall through the slats, behind the drawers, and be lost for good. I had to put a sheet down on top of the slats to avoid this and to hide the ugliness of the slats showing.
The assembly was easy, but I would suggest adding furniture sliders to the bottom because after assembled, this bed is very hard to move because it becomes heavy and tugs on the carpet. My bedroom has very long low windows that have ledges. I was worried I wouldnt be able to push the bed flush against the wall, but its height was perfect and sits right below the little ledge. Overall, I think this was a good bed, especially a good emergency bed.
Pretty satisfied
