I needed a small dresser 24 wide and the 1306 Stackable 2 Drawer Organizer was the only one I could find that fit that spec. I knew it was an inexpensive particleboard affair with fake wood veneer and thats exactly what I got. With that said, it looks fine from a couple feet away and the drawers, on metal rails (sliders), pull easily and smoothly. Drawer bottoms are light duty particleboard—not for heavy objects—but fine for socks and underwear.
This dresser is an unassembled kit so do not buy if you have difficulty following instructions or putting together furniture kits. I found the instructions reasonably easy to follow. However, I could have assembled it without the instructions since these kits are similar and Ive assembled many. It took me about 90 minutes—enjoyed a couple cold ones and watched TV while at it—and required only a Phillips screwdriver and hammer. Hardware was included and most of the parts fit perfectly. There was one drawer panel with a slightly out of alignment slot but I was able to work it in after adjustment with a Dremel.
Not great furniture but for three Jacksons its a decent deal: works fine, looks okay and is easy to assemble.
Update: I bought a second unit a year later (May 2022). Production was moved to Malaysia (from China) and I must say the quality control went up a notch or two: everything was cleanly made and fit perfectly. Particleboard density was much higher than the Chinese made unit, making for a heavier and more sturdy unit. The second time around it took me only about an hour to assemble, so a little practice helps.
