OK-this isn t high quality real-wood furniture. It s a put-it-together inexpensive alternative for the good quality stuff. For my purposes it is working out great. I think it is quite attractive and more importantly, tall enough to accomodate the height of my new bed. It really is a pleasure now to be able to just look over to see my alarm clock instead of having to scoot all the way over to the end of the bed and look down to see what the time is. It serves it s purpose quite well in that regard.
The assembly was pretty easy but it is best to have a cordless screw driver all charged up and ready to go. That will save alot of time and wear and tear on your wrists and arms. You can tell that you won t be able to place heavy objects in the drawers as the pieces used for it are quite thin and would not be able to hold much weight with out breaking in two. This dresser is meant for light weight stuff such as a box of kleenex, papers and a few paperback books. Definitely do not load up the drawers with heavy material or you will have a major headache on your hands. The open cubby above the drawers is a really handy space to have.
It came very well packaged with alot of protective packaging to it. I did not have any marks or chips on any of the pieces. All of the necessary hardware was there along with a few extra pieces which is always a thoughtful touch by the manufacturer on any given assembly required furniture. It also came with a marker pen but as of yet, I have not needed to use that. The very last thing I needed to do to complete this stand was to attach the very bottom drawer knob. Much to my surprise it was stripped. It fit ok on the screw but would just twirl around and around. I contacted via email and they sent out a new knob and screw via UPS. It took about 1 week to get to me as it is shipped from Canada. The new part(s) fit and work perfectly and I was very happy with the prompt attention I received.
For the price, the apperance, the ease of assembly I am very happy with this piece. It will do me just fine until I can afford to get a new complete bedroom set.
