Annette's husband, chiming in here: This was not an easy assembly. The pre-drilled holes for the slats were too small and too shallow, making for an extremely difficult time getting the wood screws in. If you have the right power tools you may have an easier time--but then, you really shouldn't need power tools to put something like this together. Side note: the numbered stickers identifying each piece are stuck directly on the surface of the wood, and are not the kind that easily peel off. I had to scrape them off, trying to be careful not to scratch the wood. I'll probably need to attack them with some kind of solvent to get the residue off.
