Good product for the price. Biometric works great. Sturdy door; Interior Craftmanship Not Perfect
Pros:
Door is sturdy with 5 large pins (one top, one bottom three on the side)
Biometric is very reliable fast. (I choose to scan the fingers I use three times to be extra sure)
Lock options include a digital number, muting the beeping, front door battery backup accessory included, physical key fail safe.
Depth of the safe is good
Separate internal lockbox
Separate included contoured foam with adhesive tape already adhered for hand guns if desired on the shelf
The other contoured foam for the rifles can slide up down a few inches.
Two shelf locations for the one metal shelf
Customer service responded courteously promptly to help resolve the lockbox issue (see below)
Hardware included ( two holes precut in the back of the safe) to mount the safe into wall studs.
/My safe location did not have studs behind it so, the 100lb butterfly style wall anchors did the trick.Youll want it anchored as the sturdy door makes it heavy will pull it over forward if swung all the way open.
Cons:
Internal craftsmanship not the same quality as the door
/internal lockbox door jammed along the top was initial difficult to open (now working well as long as I dont press it shut real hard /not likely, but I can pry it open again)
/2nd shelf location is not level
/ soft floor is plush, but loose
/ rougher edges in places than preferable
/ I wish the foam contoured piece had more depth for the rifles. With sights flipped up ready, my rifle would hit the back and so is angled instead of vertical as is the best way to snugly seat the end of the barrel into the foam. I might look at cutting it to hold it better at an angle.
Not a con, but one think I do have to get used to. to lock the safe, youll close the pins with the handle, but will have to remember to rotate the ring around the biometric lock. Without that last part, the safe remains unlocked. That may come in handy if in out while doing something, but could be a risk if you forget to do that last step; its not automatic.
