Price, materials, construction, and functionality all exceed expectation
Ive recently found myself in a new apartment that is somehow much smaller than the seemingly tiny house Id been in before. Its actually been a neat experience though, to think about and account for the more limited living space, and how to best utilize vertical and horizontal areas in ways that I completely would have ignored before. One of the reasons Ive enjoyed this challenge, though, is specifically because of products such as this daybed; where one furnishing or appliance can ultimately fulfill the intended use or roles of two or more items commonly found in more traditional settings.
So, as of right now, this daybed functions as both general seating in my living room, as well as a bed for one of my two boys. It has so far stood up to he and his brothers seemingly perpetual state of motion and mutual physical aggravations, but what Ive appreciated most as its proven to not be a concern is the fact that theres no /on/ squeaking or squealing like Id feared there might be for a product at this price.
In terms of comfort, obviously the level of satisfaction related to sitting/sleeping on the daybed has more to do with the mattress used than it does the frame. But, I will say this: Ive seen plenty of bed frames, futons, cribs, co/sleepers, and so/on in my time, and its rare to find a product at a price like this that employs the use of design and materials in such a way that it provides a higher standard for use and functionality than many of its more expensive counterparts. Specifically, Im talking about the slats that support the mattress. This frame utilizes bars that lock into place, where not only do they provide the bed with a more substantial weight and feel, but its worth it to note how this daybed offers a 400 lb weight limit rating. Ive seen others here on at twice the cost rated for only 200 lbs or so.
Well have to wait and see how it stands up to use over time, but as of now Im so very happy with this bed, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a bed, something to sit/lounge on, or both. Definitely looks nice.
