The end product is worth the bad words required to assemble it.
I would definitely recommend this product with two caveats:
1. Make sure you xl twin mattress has some play in it. you literally have to smash the mattress down to get it to fit. If your mattress is stiff and doesnt smoosh you will have great fun trying to get it to fit in the bunk. including but not limited to backing off screws pushing mattress down and the retorqueing the assembly screws. It fits but its a super tight fit.
2. This bed assembly comes in a box. You have to assemble EVERYTHING. The instructions are pretty decent BUT you have to look at the pictures very carefully and note where holes are etc. also be prepared to have a second set of hands (my 10 YO had to help). Finally, be prepared to say bad words.
Its time consuming and I also recommend using an electric driver with a hex bit on a LOW torque setting (5/7 lbs max) or this thing will take DAYS to assemble. It says not to but break the rules. Youll be happy you did.
