For those who care. The box says, Made in Vietnam.
I VERY highly recommend that you open and assemble this outdoors, because the wood while solid and nicely grained Smells Bad. (It stinks right out loud.) Luckily, I opened mine on the back porch. Which is where i will leave it for a few days until the smell is gone.
Also, you will want to have a drill to make pilot holes for the screws that hold on the leg brackets. This IS very hard wood and the wood screws fight you all the way in.
