So easy to put together. Very sturdy, yet light enough to easily move around.
This bench was so easy to put together. I was able to go from having it wrapped up in the box it was shipped in, to totally put together by myself in about fifteen minutes. The only part at all that is a little tricky to do on your own it putting the back piece on. If you have help with someone holding the back while you put the screws in, then it will go even faster and you can have it together easily in 10 minutes.
The bench comes in four sections, two arms, the back piece and the seat. Also included is the hardware to assemble it. I used only the two small tools that came with the hardware to put the bench together, none of my own tools. So everything you need to put this together comes in the package.
Each section of the bench is individually wrapped in plastic and Styrofoam, so they dont bang up against one another while in transport. The paint on the bench has a smooth matte black finish to it, and the packaging prevented any damage being done to the paint during shipping.
The seat is ever so slightly contoured, so its not a totally flat bench. The slight curve in the seat makes the bench comfortable to sit in. A few years ago I had a similar bench that had wood slats for a seat instead and no curve. It was hard to sit on, since a totally flat bench almost makes you feel like youre angled to slide off. The slight curve built into the seat of this bench makes you feel like youre sitting properly and comfortably.
While the bench is pretty easy to lift up and move around, its sturdy. It is light enough that I can move it around as needed, but it doesnt wiggle or feel unstable at all. The seat doesnt flex when you sit on it and the legs of the bench dont move at all.
Whether using this as a bench to relax on, or just as a decorative piece for your yard/garden/porch, its a beautiful piece of furniture.
