As many of the reviewers said it a little small compared to other coffee tables but it’s fits well in my apartment. It seems sturdy and can hold a at least a few books and plates/cups when lifted. Great for keeping the dog away from you food. Also the corners on the lift top are sharp so be careful. I already have a scratch on my leg from getting to close to the corner. It takes some time to assemble but went smoothly once I got the cordless drill charged up.
