The couch is firm, attractive, and fairly easy to put together. Connecting the chaise to the sofa is extremely difficult. I just have them pushed together because the cushions dont come off, and get in the way of connecting. The color is nowhere near black. Its more of a Gun/Metal Grey This product was exactly what I was hoping for
