It looks great in the picture, but if you have a thick mattress, the height between the bottom bunk and top bunk is maybe 2 feet or so. Definitely not enough room for a teen to sit up. The mattresses shown in the product photo are pretty thin, so be aware of that. Debating if we are going to keep it or return it.
