My wife uses it as a makeup vanity and we both think it looks great for the money. I didnt find it very difficult to put together, and the directions were very clear. Took about 45 minutes. Yes, its made out of cheap particle board, but what do you expect for this price point. If you can put together Ikea furniture you can do this. My desk did come slightly damaged on an edge, but its barely noticeable. I do carpentry as a hobby, and the trickiest part about putting this together are the inset drawers. This is a good opportunity to break out dads dusty old speed square as youre putting together the drawers and desk. If youre out of square, which is easy since the construction relies mostly only screws and dowels, youll have drawers that stick as you pull them in and out. Inset drawers may look great, but theyre also more difficult to put together correctly. Just be aware of that before you buy.
