We had a similar coffee table years ago, from a furniture store so you KNOW we spent the big bucks for it! THIS coffee table needs some assembly, but the price makes it SO worth it. It is black matte but it goes in my room where I have that deep espresso brown and other brown colors and it looks great. Please forgive the lighting...it looks brown, I know, but it IS matte black, so if you want/need black, order the black, you wont be disappointed! My husband assembled this before I even knew he had it out of its shipping box. Went together in no time, he took the extra step in wood gluing the wood dowel pieces that went into assembly too, and honestly I dont think it took him 30 mins.! The only thing he said he thought could use some tweaking in the design area was the center divider was odd to put in, I dont know, I wasnt in there lol. He also said that the screws needed to be larger in diameter as it is easy to strip the screw holes with the hardware, the holes are THAT close in size to the screws...but he just found some larger replacements for the couple that did get stripped, and it worked out. I love that it has a bit of covered storage, good for things you want handy but not sitting out all the time. Plus the open storage below is nice. All in all for the price being under 140.00 this is a nice little piece of furniture, its SO convenient to sit at with your dinner too while you watch TV. I would suggest this to anyone, especially anyone who is starting out and needs all the bang their buck can get them!
