The other reviews posted at the time I purchased this file cabinet made me hesitate, and I almost didn’t buy it. I’m glad I gave it a try anyway! It came together beautifully and wasn’t truly that hard to assemble. It comes flat-packed, so yes, you do have to assemble all five drawers as well as the rectangular frame. That process is a bit repetitive, but not particularly challenging. (Note: The cut out to allow you to slide the drawer bottoms in is actually really helpful when tightening the screws to see if you’re aligning the sides correctly or if you’ve torqued one of them.) The trickiest but overall was figuring out which direction to position the drawer slides, because that little bit wasn’t well displayed in the instructions. This whole project took a 30-something gal with a good screw driver and a fair bit of prior experience assembling flat-pack furniture just over 60 minutes to finish. The cabinet is sturdy as heck at the end, and well worth the money.
