I didnt know what Id be getting here. But I thought Id try it out because out of all the economic options, this one seemed well reviewed. I am IN LOVE with this thing it was heavy to bring in, for sure. Most people should probably have someone help them, but I managed on my own (with some help from my trusty little car haha), and Im a 54 young woman. I included a picture of when Id taken it directly out of the box. All the circles you can see are where the springs are. This worried me at first that I might be getting jabbed by springs in the night. The second picture is unrolled but still vacuum sealed. The third is right after I took off the plastic. It popped up immediately. In fact I measured it right away and it was already 12 inches, without the 24 hours to expand. It had no plastic or factory smell at all Because Ive been sleeping on the floor for so long, I was too excited to wait. I went ahead and put sheets and a quilt on and settled in for the night. Its worth noting: I have had knee, hip, and back issues for years. This is the first morning in a while that Ive woken up without my back hurting, hips being sore, or having my knee feel pinched. I feel great. Its definitely a firm bed, which I personally love, and I think is really helpful for people like me who need good back support. But the memory foam top makes it still soft and comfy without making you feel like youre sinking into the mattress or leaving an indent when you get up. Ie: excellent body support, yet cushions the joints.
Some notes:
The vertical sides of the mattress are definitely thin, so you can feel the springs if you touch it. But obviously youre not sleeping on that part. I just note this because it is definitely one of the reasons that this mattress is more affordable. It doesnt bother me in the slightest, but I know that some people might not like that.
I hope this thing stands the test of time. One thing I will say is that if you are getting this for a child: make sure they are old enough or simply know not to ever jump in the bed. Some mattresses can tolerate it, but I do have a feeling that this bed would quickly be demolished if someone were to do something like that. I get the feeling that so long as I treat this mattress well, itll treat me well. I hope to get on here maybe next year with an update on its longevity.
I just had the best night of sleep of my life
