We have a 3 and a 1/2 year old and an 8 month old. A few months ago we babysit a friends 4 year old Thursday/Sunday. This bed came Friday morning. I (a woman) assembled the bed by myself in time for our friends daughter to use it Friday night. Now our older son uses it and loves it. We ordered the twin size. Simple and does the job.
